What the guarantee covers
For 12 years from the completion date, Black Horse Painting guarantees its workmanship against peeling, blistering, flaking or chipping caused by surface preparation or paint application. If it happens, we return, prep the affected area and repaint it at no cost to you. Cabinet refinishing is covered for 5 years, because cabinets take more daily wear than any other painted surface.
What it does not cover
- Damage from water intrusion, leaks, or moisture from inside the wall
- Cracking from structural movement, settling or new stucco cracks
- Impact damage, abrasion or damage from other trades
- Normal fading, chalking or gloss loss from sun exposure over time
- Surfaces you asked us not to prep, or repairs you declined

What is included in a painting warranty?
The Black Horse 12-year guarantee covers workmanship: paint that peels, blisters, flakes or chips because of how the surface was prepared or how the paint was applied. If it happens, we come back, prep the affected area and repaint it at no charge. It does not cover damage from water intrusion, structural movement, impact, or normal fading from sun exposure. Cabinet refinishing is covered for 5 years.
Why 12 years when most painters offer 2 to 5?
Because the prep and coverage standard makes it safe to offer. A surface that is washed, sanded, primed and sealed, then painted at 25 to 30 gallons, does not peel in year three. Most short warranties exist because the painter knows the prep will not hold.
